Russian mobile application market is estimated to be worth $160 m, according to a report published by J’son & Partners Consulting. The data from 2012 shows the market grew by 256% compared to the previous year. The company estimates the global market value to be $7.83 bn., and expects it to reach $65.79 by 2016.
J’son & Partners believe mobile apps in Russia will have about the same growth rate as globally, and they predict 800% increase in value of the country's app market by 2016, up to $1.3 bn. Mobile applications are currently at the peak of popularity, as more and more companies see having one as an important competitive advantage, the study says. J’son & Partners Consulting estimates as many as 600 m people used their mobile gadgets to access Facebook in 2012, and there are 177.5 m tablet computers currently in use globally.
